🎯 CASE STUDY: FANUC Technology Center

📌 Project Summary
Client: FANUC Turkey – Sancaktepe Technology Center
Location: Sancaktepe, Istanbul
Requirement: 1000 kVA Prime Power Seismically Certified Generator Set
Implemented Solution: TJ1100PE5L – 1000 kVA Prime Power Seismically Certified Generator Set
Primary Need: A highly reliable, earthquake-resistant, and synchronization-ready backup power system
🏗️ New Technology Center, New Vision
To meet the growing demands of the manufacturing sector and strengthen its presence in the Turkish market, FANUC Turkey has invested in a new technology center in Sancaktepe, Istanbul.
This new facility not only enhances the company’s operational capacity in Turkey, but is also designed in line with sustainable and uninterrupted operations principles.
One of the most critical requirements of the technology center was to ensure uninterrupted power during outages, with a highly reliable backup solution. Given the seismic risks in Turkey, the facility also needed to be resilient against extraordinary natural events. Therefore, the generator selection process was shaped around safety and technical criteria well beyond standard expectations.

⚙️ Technical Solution and Implementation Details
✅ TJ1100PE5L – 1000 kVA Prime Power Generator Set
The generator set deployed at FANUC’s new technology center was specifically configured not only for current requirements but also for the site’s future growth plans:
  • 🔄 Synchronization-Ready Automatic System:
The generator set was configured for operation in automatic mode. Additionally, the system was equipped with the necessary infrastructure for synchronization, in case of future capacity expansion and integration of additional generators. The control panel was selected to be compatible with synchronization when replaced.
  • 🌍 Earthquake Resistance – Seismically Certified Equipment:
Located in an active earthquake zone, this project prioritized seismic durability. The installed generator set is certified to international seismic standards. Spring isolators installed between the generator base and the foundation play a key role in minimizing damage during seismic activity.
  • 🔇 Advanced Sound Attenuation:
Equipped with a critical-type muffler, the system minimizes operational noise levels, ensuring comfort for personnel and compliance with environmental standards.
  • 10-Hour External Fuel Tank with Smart Refueling:
The external daily fuel tank provides uninterrupted fuel supply for up to 10 hours. When the fuel level drops below a critical threshold, the automatic refueling system is triggered, refilling the tank without requiring user intervention—thus preventing power interruptions.
  • 🌡️ High Temperature Resistance and Stable Performance:
The alternator features special winding insulation for safe operation under high temperatures. Furthermore, the AREP-supported AVR system guarantees stable voltage, even during sudden load changes.
🚀 Project Outcomes and Added Value
With this power infrastructure, FANUC’s new technology center is now prepared not only to meet current operational demands but also future expansion. Thanks to seismic safety measures, automation, and a scalable infrastructure, the facility is equipped with a reliable, sustainable, and flexible energy management system.
This investment brings FANUC closer to its “zero downtime” goal, while also ensuring preparedness against natural disasters and power outages.
